Before we dive into the details, you can watch Akame Ga Kill on AnimePahe to experience one of the best anime series for yourself.

Why should you watch this anime series?

What exactly about this series is so interesting?

I had similar questions when I received two messages at different times, from two people whose paths had never even crossed, recommending this anime series to me.

And so, burning with a fierce determination to find answers to the questions asked earlier, I took the pain to download the series. All 24 episodes.

I didn't watch it all in one day, but I did in two.

Trust me when I say this series is a cocktail of every emotion. You'll feel the pain, the friendship, the love, the hatred and the sacrifices every character makes.

The story is as intriguing as it can get. It explores themes like friendship, betrayal, peace, violence, deceit and so many others that you'll find out only when you watch the series.

You want a series that leaves you with lessons?

You want a series that captivates you every second of every minute while watching?

You want a series that helps you unwind after a long day?

You want a series that makes your jaw drop every damn time?

Then THOSE are your whys.

This series will have you thinking you know exactly where things are going, only for it to turn around and slap you across the face.

We all didn't expect the "kind and good" Miss Aria to turn out the way she did. And honestly, that was one of my first "Oh, okay, so we're doing THIS?" moments.

But I'll let you discover that one yourself.

Let's go on a little gisty-talky trip.

The Night Raid Team: More Than Just Assassins

Night Raid Team in Akame Ga Kill

Honestly, one thing I really loved about them is their friendship. That friendship bond that makes them stand up for each other and help each other, even going as far as putting their lives on the line for one another.

You could tell they weren't just some random group of people thrown together to fight the Empire. They actually cared about each other, and that made every fight, every sacrifice and every difficult decision hit differently.

Understanding the Lore: The Imperial Arms

The Imperial Arms (Teigu) are ancient, powerful weapons forged from the remains of legendary super-beasts. These relics are the primary source of power and conflict in the Empire, serving as the core lore driving the series' intense battles.

Akame (1)Let's talk about Akame.

Akame. Akame. Akame.

My absolute favourite character.

She balances fierceness and softness so perfectly, much like the way she moves between cooking and fighting. And compared to how her sister turned out? Akame is doing much better.

After eliminating each target, she rewards herself with a delicious home cooked meal.

Sexy, isn't it?

leone_caracter_in_akame_a_killThen Leone, the girl with big boobs. Oh, Leone.

I've always liked her, but do you know what fuelled my love for her?

Her personality.

That confidence. That unseriousness. That ability to be absolutely chaotic and still be one of the people you can count on when things get serious.

And that particular scene where she smashed the Prime Minister's head?

Classic! 😻

I almost kissed her through the screen.

Also, that part where she asked Tatsumi whose bikini he liked the most between hers and Chelsea's?

Very funny. Very petty. Very Leone.

And Chelsea who always say, "Don't be too emotionally invested; you'll die," and somehow manages to become one of the most emotionally invested people in the entire story. Lol

Let's just say the series will make you question whether you should ever get emotionally attached to anybody.

That's all I'll say. 😭

Then there's Bulat and Lubbock.

The gay and the pervert.

The Night raid team is a very funny team, but when it comes to fighting, they all knew their onions. Most people who mess with them always end up messed up.

Well.....apart from the great Esdeath.

My Favourite Villains: The Power of the Empire

Esdeath is that warrior for real, known throughout the Empire for her brutality and fierceness.

I can't lie, I took a liking to her really quickly, and the only problem I had with her was her motive.

But aside from that, I love her aura.

The wicked glint in her eyes whenever she wants to fight, torture or lure her opponent? Omo😎.

She was anything but soft.

And when she finally showed some signs of softness, Aunty decided that falling for Tatsumi was the next line of action.

As how nau? 😭😂

Honestly, watching her go from terrifying warrior to woman in love was one of the funniest things because you could almost feel her confusion.

So, Madam Esdeath, this is what you're doing with all that strength? 😭

5800902380852285056Also, if I don't say anything about Seryu Ubiquitous, it'll actually burst inside me.

Honestly, that girl is a proper psychopath with misplaced priorities.

The way losing her wicked bosses always gets her worked up, I wonder who the puppet really is between her and her stupidly dangerous Imperial Relic.

Because at some point, I wasn't even sure who was controlling who.

But I did like her at first.

I don't know if having a most hated villain is allowed, but right after the Prime Minister, the Emperor carries the crown.

Fine, he was that lonely kid who fell into the care of the wrong hands, but honestly, when has killing innocent people been a sign of a good ruler?

The more the story progressed, the more I understood why people hated him.

Let's just say the ending did not exactly improve my opinion of him.

So here's your what.

The characters, Leone in particular😍. The surprising twists. The funny moments. The tension. The micro-romance. The friendships. The fights. The unexpected turns.

And every other line in between that I have failed to mention.

Akame ga Kill is almost perfect, but that's not really why I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it because it kept me invested.

One minute I'm laughing. The next minute I'm shouting at my screen. Then I'm questioning somebody's life choices. Then I'm emotionally attached to a character I probably shouldn't have gotten attached to in the first place.

And somehow, I'm still pressing "Next Episode."

So tell a friend to tell a friend.

Akame ga Kill is THAT series.
